Q. Can rope light be used outdoors or indoors? A. Create-a-lite is approved for both indoor and outdoor use. The connectors have gasket seals that prevent moisture penetration but should never be immersed into water. If the rope light is used outdoors it must be connected to a ground faulted circuit (GFI) to prevent electric shock. When used indoors, the rope light should never be placed in a closed space that would not permit heat dissipation.
Q. Can rope light be spliced? A. Connectible rope light should never be cut or spliced together. CSA and UL ruled that after November 1st, 2003, splice able product is not permitted to be sold. Any connectible product that is cut and/or spliced shall no longer be approved by CSA or UL. Modifying the rope light in any way can be a safety hazard and also renders the limited warranty void.
Q. What lengths and colors do they come in? A. Create-a-lite is available in 12, 18 and 30 feet lengths which can be connected together to make a maximum of 150 feet. This is for your protection. If you connect too many lengths together the rope can overheat and the fuse in the plug will blow. Create-a-lite is available in many colors including red, green, blue, purple, grey, yellow, orange, pink and kiwi. Multi-colors are also available such; red & green and red, green, blue & yellow. Regardless of the color or length, all create-a-lite can be connected together for a maximum of 150 feet. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
