National Hardware Show, May 10 – 12, 2004
Sands Expo & Convention Center - Las Vegas, Nevada

“WOW! Look at that booth!”. There was a buzz that surrounded Globe at the recent National Hardware Show held in Las Vegas, May 10–12, 2004.  Globe exhibited at the show’s venue debut and lived up to the Vegas reputation of creating an exciting and memorable experience!

Major U.S. and Canadian retailers filled the booth with lots of activity over the course of the 3-day show. Globe displayed a 900 sq. ft. custom-designed booth to bring attention to the breadth of their categories and their strengths in merchandising. Over 300 skus of bulbs, electrical and lighting were merchandised on strategically designed product towers in addition to pallets, permanent displays, power wings, power panels, and product podiums.  Globe creatively incorporated merchandising, application photography and category details by using graphic boards and posters on each product display. This served to reinforce the merchandisibility of the Globe brand and educate attendees about what Globe is bringing to the market.

Globe focused on highlighting their major product categories in the booth: decorative lighting including vanity and outdoor lighting, desk lamps, bulbs, and electrical, Globe also demonstrated their cross-merchandising skills by showing several different pallet displays that included Seasonal, handy-man Workshop and Energy-Savings.

In their Seasonal display, Globe merchandised a full pallet assortment of over 23 skus of Christmas LED night lights, cords, decorative motifs, rope lights and holiday bulbs. With color coordinated Globe packaging and pdqs, the display’s bold red and white pallet graphics and postering attracted the attention of the Seasonal buyer looking to make a noticeable impact in-store during the upcoming holiday period.

Globe’s handy-man Workshop display showed a full pallet of Globe’s top skus in work lights and extension cords. Their compact Workshop work light with cool-to-the-touch housing has an energy-efficient 26 watts of power, enough to safely light up large work space areas inside and outside the home. Their more heavy-duty Broadbeam™ Contractor work light showcases a beam spread of 162° of light compared to 100° spread of light usually found on most work lights. Both skus were cross-merchandised on the pallet with matching grades of extension cords. The pallet was coordinated with matching packaging and workshop-theme graphics to communicate Globe’s strength in the home renovation market.

Globe’s Energy-Savings display showcased a full pallet of compact fluorescent light bulbs in 2-pack clams and convenient 4-pack boxes. Complete with a giant-sized compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb on top of the display to attract attention, this display was built to help the retailer capitalize on consumer’s desire for year-round savings on everyday commodity items. Through powerful full-color graphics, the Energy-Savings display showed application uses for the CFL bulbs in addition to communicating the calculated dollar savings per annum due to reduced electricity consumption. The result in the booth was powerful, and became a major opportunity for Globe and its customers.
